See How Green Indigo Can Be!
Sure our name is "Digital Indigo." But you'll find Green to be a major code of conduct in our business. Since our inception in 1998, the company has been built upon conservation principles. Some companies pretend to conserve. We've made true conservation a way of business since day one. By conserving resources we can save money, reduce waste, and most importantly help keep the environment a better place. Digital Indigo was green before green was cool.
Here's some of the ways we implement green policies:
- Use bicycles rather than cars for routine business trips (i.e. trips to the credit union/bank, post office, and other general business runs).
- Use fluorescent and LED lighting rather than incandescent.
- Enable Energy Saver modes on computers and appliances.
- Turn off all non-essential electronic devices at the end of the day.
- Utilize solar power for some systems.
- Minimize the amount of printouts and paper waste from faxes and printers by using on-screen viewing and PDF distribution.
- Compost low-grade paper products as well as compostable food scraps.
- Reuse packaging materials and office consumables
- Recycle metals, glass, and batteries
Digital Indigo also sponsors bicycling, hiking, kayaking, XC skiing, and snowshoeing trips. After all, it encourages everyone when they see what they're saving.
